MEDEVAC Programme in Zambia
Zambia has been one of the priority countries for the Czech Republic in terms of foreign development cooperation. African Health Forum took place in Prague in May 2022 – and on this occasion, we were contacted by Mr. Pavel Procházka, the Ambassador to Zambia, as well as directly by Mrs. Silvia Masebo, Zambia’s Minister of Health. Mrs. Masebo directly identified the most needed specialisations: ENT and traumatology/orthopaedics; later on, we were contacted regarding paediatric heart surgery. Based on a reconnaissance mission carried out the same year, all the agreed activities are being implemented, which specifically consist of educational stays of Zambian physicians in our country and missions of Czech medical teams to partner hospitals in Mongu and Lusaka.

- a reconnaissance mission in the fields of traumatology, otorhinolaryngology, and paediatric heart surgery
2023
- deployment of medical teams in the specialised medical fields of traumatology in cooperation with the Olomouc University Hospital, the Královské Vinohrady University Hospital and the Brno University Hospital and ENT in cooperation with the Motol University Hospital
- educational stays of healthcare professionals from Zambia in the Czech Republic
